Dear Clark-Moores Parents, Guardians, and Students,

I just wanted to take a minute to express my gratitude to our wonderful parents, guardians, staff, and students. I hope you and your family were able to enjoy the holiday break and spend some time engaged in winter activities.  Hopefully, several of you had an opportunity to play in the snow and toss a few snowballs.  A fresh blanket of snow in central Kentucky always makes me smile even though the cold air seems cooler than it did in my youth.

Leading our school this last semester has definitely made me realize that patience, flexibility, and understanding are vital characteristics during this pandemic. The hallways here at Clark-Moores have been silent for way too long; I am anxious and excited to welcome our students back.  Yes, I have missed their presence and conversation. Middle school-aged kids are awesome, and I’m blessed to be their principal.

It is with great optimism that I approach each day hoping that our students can get back to in-person learning. Our staff has continued working daily to make sure that our school is safe for when they return.  Our teachers have continued planning for virtual instruction as well as monitoring the social and mental aspects of learning from home. We will continue to focus on enhancing and strengthening meaningful learning activities for the students regardless of the implemented learning models due to COVID-19.  During this time, I also appreciate all that our parents and guardians have been doing at home to support your child’s education. I realize that many of you have had to adjust your daily schedules to become virtual help-desks, study early human cultures, brush up on your math skills, and learn to play a new musical instrument.   It will take all of us working as a TEAM to further the learning of your child during this unprecedented and very unpredictable time. Thank you for your patience and continued support during this difficult time.

Stay Safe,

Mr. Sexton
